Does Not Work.
M. Lurie - Seminole, FL United StatesDon't waste your time or money on the guitar controller. I got this thing hooked up to my PS3 okay, but the Guitar Hero Metallica game did not recognize that it was even there. I must have fiddled with it for almost an hour with no luck. It is supposed to work with Rock Band or Guitar Hero. I think the switch that controls whether it is set for Guitar Hero or Rock Band is broken. I definitely had the switch correctly set for Guitar Hero, but no dice. It works controlling the PS3, just not the game. Spend the extra $15 and get the Activision controller.

Works Perfectly For Me... Must Be A Lot Of User Error Happening Out There.
Matthew D. Seraphine (Whosyermatty) - Colorado Springs, CO USATook a chance on this guitar after reading the reviews, have had two of them for a little over a month now and absolutely no problems with them at all. The only thing that you have to remember is if you're using the guitar with RockBand 2 the selector has to be set to "Guitar Hero" mode, that's probably why so many people report it being defective. Easy fix, well worth the $12 I paid for each guitar... saw this same guitar in a GameStop location yesterday, sels for $49.99 as of 6/29/09.

No Real Problems To Be Found
SnS - Crossville, TNOK, I want to start off by saying this was my first guitar I ever owned. So, I had no pre-conceived notions of what the guitar should be like. That being said, I will say this. For the price this guitar is going for when compared to the cost of some of the name brand guitars (with similar ratings and complaints mind you), this is a no brainer. First of all the guitar has worked very well for me for about a month. I have used this A LOT. I played through Legends of Rock all the way through three times on Easy, Medium, and Hard and then picked up World Tour and played through it on guitar and bass on medium and am attempting hard. After all that as well as playing with friends on it and my friends using it (and not gently I might add) it still works like the first day. Apart from the initial setup (which CAN be a little confusing, but by no means hard) this has been an excellent guitar. The only down sides I have found are: 1) The size. It feels kinda small to me and can be a little akward to hold. 2) With my large hands, what is comfortable for me to strum and hit the whammy bar also sets me up to unintentionally hit the sync button. Not a huge problem, but when you are getting in a groove and then bring up the PS3 menu; it can be distracting from your gig.
All in all, I have found almost every negative complaint against this to be probably no more than a failure to read the instructions or simply being used to another type of guitar and hating on something different as none of the complaints that surfaced on here happened to me on mine. This is a surprisingly good piece of hardware for a VERY reasonable price and if you need a spare or, like myself, are just getting in to the Guitar Hero/Rock Band scene and need something cheaper than the much more expensive bundles; look no further than this right here. -
Your Kids Will Love It!
G. Sibaja (Jerrytico) - Costa RicaAnd so will you! For a steal of a price I got this guitar for the kids to play both Rock Band and Guitar Hero, it works great and they love it, now they can have duels and play in groups. Fast shipping. Definitively would recomend it to anyone.

Everything I Need For A Great Price
Frank J. Perricone - People's Republic of VermontAbout the only thing I can think of a Rock Band/Guitar Hero guitar could have that this doesn't have is a second set of fret buttons, and that's not important to me, though my wife maybe could use it. I even like the look. The controls are responsive, and the "foot pedal" USB plug having LEDs for the fret buttons is cute. I was worried that a guitar this cheap couldn't work well, but it's spot on.
